A single smart key safeguards millennia of culture at Pontifical Lateran University
INFO ABOUT THE PROJECT
Easily manage access to auditoriums, lecture halls and university libraries with a single key that opens multiple mechatronic cylinders

Location: Vatican City
Architect: Roselli Architetti Associati

Amid historic Pontificial Lateran University buildings, Pio IX Library stands out for its façade's contemporary design. The simple and sophisticated design enhances room's brightness, lending a sense of lightness and a generally upward tension to the space.

Requests

Pontifical Lateran University's main request was to reduce the huge number of keys to access all rooms inside its library, to be able to manage access permissions and see who and when someone enters in a specific area.

Our contribution

ISEO mechatronic cylinder F9000 was the perfect solution to manage the entrances inside the library: now they can use just one key that ensures access to all the rooms as well as control over any unauthorized access. Since it can be programmed and disabled at anytime and anywhere, the cylinder F9000 ensures high security and flexibility. The University was so pleased about ISEO's solutions that it decided to install the new electronic cylinders on all doors.
